Business Computing – A Blend of Business and IT Skills

Business computing is the application of diverse technologies to meet the demands of business information. It is a blend of the fields of business and computer science, and could comprise some aspects of advanced computing. Graduates may choose to pursue careers in the IT or business world, working with computing/technical issues.

The course is firmly rooted in the workplace with guests lecturers from business and engineering partners sharing their knowledge of actual business issues. You are also able to develop live briefs, which apply your technical expertise to real-world problems. Over the course of four years you will develop a wide range of business and IT-related abilities. From developing software to analyzing data in order to offer innovative solutions to businesses.

During your first year, you’ll be exploring subjects like accounting and marketing and gain hands-on with the most recent IT and computing technologies. You’ll sharpen your IT and business skills in preparation for your year of placement, that could be on-campus or at one of the many partner companies in Kent and London. You’ll finish with a unique mix of business and IT expertise that could lead to a variety of possibilities in career fields such as software development and web development customer service, as well as data analytics. Former graduates have worked for companies like Accenture, BP FDM and Spotify.
